Ingredients

1 Pound
Beef top sirloin steak
0.25 Cup
Soy Sauce
2 tbsp
White Sugar
2 tbsp
Cornstarch
0.5 tsp
Ground ginger
3 tbsp
Vegetable Oil
1
Red Onion (cut into 1-inch squares)
1
Green Bell Pepper (cut into 1-inch squares)
2
Tomatoes (cut into wedges)

Method

  1. Cut the steak into 1/2-inch thick slices across the grain.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch, and ginger until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Put the steak slices in the marinade and stir until well-coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat and put 1/3 of the steak strips in the hot oil. Cook and mix until beef are well-brown, about 3 minutes, and remove the beef from the wok to the bowl. Repeat the remaining beef again, then set aside the cooked beef.
  4. Return all the beef to the hot wok and stir in the onion. Toss together the beef and the onion until the onion starts to melt, about 2 minutes, then stir in the green pepper. Cook and stir until the pepper has turned green and is soft, about 2 minutes, then add the tomatoes, stir all together and serve.
